Show Office: The show office will be located near the arena at the show facility, and will open 1 hour prior to the fist scheduled ride time.
Ride Times: Tentative ride times will be emailed the Thursday night prior to the show. Late entries will be added to the schedule at the end of the day.
Arena: One 20 x 60 meter arena with sand footing. Warm-up area is available with the same footing. Additional warm- up space is available in the grass arena. Lunging is allowed in the grass arena only. Riders needing to lunge will be given priority in the grass arena over riders warming up under saddle.
Attire: Proper show attire is encouraged; however, riders may choose to wear a polo style shirt, tucked in, instead of the traditional shirt, stock-tie, and coat. Boots, solid colored breeches, and helmet (17 and under) are required. For WDAA appropriate Western dress with boots are required.
Show Awards: Ribbons to 6th place for all classes. An additional award will be given to the high score of each division for that day. End of Year Awards: To qualify riders must be in good standing with JHA. Point tally will be for the each horse/rider combination. Horse/Rider must earn score in 4 of 6 shows in the same Division/Level. Horse/Rider must ride and earn a score in the highest class in that division at least once in the show season. The top 4 scores (which must include at least one score from the highest level class) are averaged to produce an end-of-year score. The top score receives Grand Champion Award. The second highest score receives Reserve Champion Award. Any horse/rider combination who wins an End-of-Year Grand Champion Award or Reserve Champion Award may not earn Grand or Reserve Champion in that division the following year.
Pets: Dogs must be kept on a leash and at the owner/handler’s side at all times. Dogs may not be tied to any fence or foliage. Refunds: No refunds will be given after the closing date.
Tack Rule: Please refer to the USEF Rulebook regarding legal bits, nosebands, and other equipment.
Rules in Effect: Other than the relaxed dress code, JHA abides by the USEF Rules. All members are encouraged to read the USEF rulebook, which can be found online at USEF.org. The USEF Rulebook Dressage Division is an excellent resource for descriptions of the gaits and movements, as well as details on how horse and rider are judged in a dressage competition.
Whips: One whip no longer than 47.2 inches (120cm) including the lash may be carried.
Bridle Numbers: All horses are required to wear an assigned bridle number while on the show grounds. Bridle numbers may be turned back into the show office after the horse is finished competing for a $2 refund. In that way we can re-use the number, and your costs are kept low!
Stabling: There is no stabling or wash racks on the show grounds. Competitors will have to work out of their horse trailers. There is no manure pile at the show grounds. DO NOT CLEAN OUT THE BACK OF YOUR TRAILER AND LEAVE THE MANURE IN THE PARKING AREA. Please strive to leave only footprints and take only memories.
